What is an easement?

An easement is a right exercised over another person’s property for the benefit of another.

A non-exhaustive list of easements include:

  1. Vehicular and/or pedestrian right of way over another’s property;
  2. Access to private parking;
  3. Access for use of swimming pool, golf course etc.;
  4. Right to use another’s underground cables/piping.
