Catherine Loadman, a Partner at Pinney Talfourd, has signed up to Prudential RideLondon and is currently in training to ride 100 miles through London and the Surrey countryside to raise money for our Charity of the Year 2018, Tapestry.
Prudential RideLondon is the world’s greatest festival of cycling. In it’s sixth year now, it will take place over the weekend of 28-29 July 2018. The event is part of the Mayor and TfL’s cycling programme and provides a fantastic platform to help fulfil their goal of encouraging more people to cycle more safely, more often.
The roads will be closed and will include professional cyclists as well as amateur cyclists like Catherine – although cycling 100 miles is not for any old beginner! The event will also be broadcast live on TV so she has been busy training for her big screen appearance.
Tapestry has been around for over 68 years, originally conceived as Havering Older Peoples Welfare Association. HOPWA House opened in 1965. In 1973 they became Age Concern Havering and the Havering based unit became Tapestry in 2014. They have helped over 350,000 people in that time and remain focused on care in the local community to this day.
Tapestry aim to open a sensory room in each of their centres in 2018 and will be building a new sensory garden at their HOPWA House centre in early 2019. These ambitious projects do not come cheap and they are aiming to raise over £90,000 in the next twelve months.
More than £53 million by has been raised by Prudential RideLondon for numerous charities since the first event in 2013.
We hope you can help channel some of this fundraising towards helping Tapestry build their new garden and rooms. Please make your donation on our Just Giving page.
