New Commercial Partner at Pinney Talfourd LLP

We are delighted to announce the appointment of a new Partner at Pinney Talfourd LLP.  Edward Garston is a dedicated company and commercial specialist and was appointed a Partner on 1st May 2019.

​Edward joined the firm in 2016 and leads the corporate arm within the Commercial Department, based in Brentwood.
Edward’s time at the firm has been successful. In January 2019 he had the huge honour of winning the Legal 500 UK 2019 Award for Corporate and Commercial Individual (Outside London). He was recognised in the 2017, 2018 and 2019 Legal 500 rankings as a Next Generation Lawyer. Their predictions were indeed correct and Edward has become the next generation of Partner, the only appointment in 2019.

With a degree in Economics, Edward spent a number of years working in banking and financial markets in London, before taking a Post Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course in 2006. His experience in the City provided a wealth of knowledge and he was soon practising at another mid-sized firm in Essex, specialising in corporate law, before joining Pinney Talfourd. His commitment, aptitude and professionalism at the firm has now earned him the reward of partnership.

Edward acts for clients ranging from owner managed businesses, management teams, entrepreneurs, high net worth individuals, banks, financial institutions, and alternative lenders. His banking background ideally positions him for corporate finance and specialist lending and security transactions as it allows him to offer a unique insight into a finance transaction rarely seen in similarly qualified solicitors.

Edward excels at mergers and acquisitions as well as corporate restructuring, Companies Act procedures and commercial agreements. He has been a keynote speaker to the Institute of Financial Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) on matters of company law.

He is well known and respected by his peers as a dedicated and specialist regional Corporate Commercial practitioner.
