Last Saturday (June 25) saw the return of Essex Pride to Chelmsford, Essex where the team at Pinney Talfourd Solicitors were proud to take part. This was the first time we have exhibited at a Pride event. This year’s celebration was a special one as it also marked the first Pride March which started at Chelmsford City Centre, finishing off at Chelmsford Central Park at 12 noon where the event was held.
The Pinney Talfourd team were positioned within the main entrance marque, where we saw over 2,000 happy faces enter. Our team were on hand to discuss any legal advice and services where we handed out rainbow flags and wristbands to those in attendance as well as other promotional goodies we had on the day.
Our family team lawyers were on hand to answer questions and offer advice regarding civil partnerships, adoption and surrogacy. In addition, they pointed people in the right direction to our other departments where our Wills service was of great interest.
Pride takes place in June on the anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall riots, an event that many believe to be a significant turning point for gay rights in America and around the world. Pride celebrates how far LGBTQ+ rights have come, whilst highlighting areas for improvement to create a fairer and more accepting society.
